How long should I ice my new hip or knee?
Ice is used to help reduce pain and swelling. Ice may be used as comfort dictates. There is no limit to how long you use ice or how often during the day. There is no limit to the number of weeks you may use the ice treatment. Be sure to place a protective layer such as a pillow case or thin towel between your skin and the ice if there is no protective sleeve available for the ice bag or icing unit/machine.
How long do I wear the compression socks following my operation?
